Hollywood Walk of Fame
Walking along Hollywood Boulevard, the Hollywood Walk of Fame is instantly recognisable the moment you see the famous gold stars along the pavement commemorating some of the true greats of the celebrity world both past and present. Since 1960, over 2200 celebrities have been honoured, with their name in the centre of a bronze terrazo star. Here you will see famous names commemorated such as James Dean, Marlon Brando, Elvis Presley, Gene Autry, Eddie Murphy John Lennon - practically the who's who of stage and screen who have made a significant mark on the world. If you are fortunate enough - you may be there at a time when a celebrity is there in person being inaugurated onto the Walk of Fame. Grauman's Chinese Theatre
The Grauman Chinese Theatre is without question one of Hollywood's greatest landmarks. Opened in 1927 by the eponymous promoter in 1927, the original theatre hosted a variety of stage shows and then the world's first 'movie premieres'. Nowadays, millions of visitors come to see its famous entrance, where more than 160 stars have set their hand/footprints and signatures into concrete - now a famous and internationally recognised tradition. Expect to see the imprints of such stars as Marilyn Monroe, Frank Sinatra, Ginger Rogers, Paul Newman and Humphrey Bogart. A more unusual imprint can be found to the fascination of Star Wars fans in the form of the wheeltracks of R2-D2. The cinema is still active, showing modern and classic movies.

Mulholland Drive
Only those reaping the rewards of car hire may drive down this famous avenue - the setting for a countless amounts of films scenes, which also gives way to incredible views of the city.
The Getty Museum
This incredible museum boasts an inimitable array of artworks and sculptures including some of the world's most famous. Decked out in beautiful Italian marble and plush French furniture, expect to see Van Gogh's Irises (which cost the museum £27m to acquire) and works by the likes of Roy Lichtenstein, Joan Miro and Isamu Noguchi. As well as this awesome museum, the cable car from the car park at the base of a hill is magnificent, enabling you to take in formidable views across Los Angeles.

Venice Beach Ocean Front Walk
No visit to Los Angeles could be complete without visiting the bohemian paradise of Venice Beach. Amongst numerous street performers, musclemen, bikini-clad women and bikers, walk along this unmistakable stretch of Californian coast - once the hang-out for famous Beat writers such as Jack Kerouac, Allen Ginsberg, William S. Burroughs and many more.
