Miami is served by two international airports; Miami International and Fort Lauderdale International, although only the former offers direct services to/from the UK. The airport is located around eight miles northwest of downtown Miami and is the busiest airport in the state of Florida, handling around 34 million passengers every year.

By Bus

The Miami-Dade Transit Department (www.miamidade.gov/transit) provide Metrobus services to all areas of Miami-Dade County to/from the airport. The bus station can be found at Level 1 of Terminal E.

By Train

A Metrobus service run by the Miami-Dade Transit Department connects to the Tri-Rail (www.tri-rail.com) commuter train network's station east of the airport. Onward connections are available to Broward and Palm Beach counties. If you are in possession of an airline ticket, your journey using this method of transport is completely free.

By Car

Getting to downtown Miami is very straightforward from the airport. From the city, take the Interstate 95 exiting at LeJeune Road northbound where you will begin to pick up signs for the airport. If travelling from the north, take the Interstate 95 south to the SR112. From the southwest, take the SR826 north and simply exit at LeJeune Road northbound where you will again pick up signs for the airport terminals.
