Glasgow Excursions
Although Glasgow appears urban to the eye, you are in fact at the gateway to some of Scotland's most beautiful rural scenery, with lakes, mountains and the coast all within reach when you have the benefit of car hire. If golf's your thing, some of the world's best courses are at your disposal, most notably Royal Troon and Turnberry, which are both in possession of scenic coastal views.

There are many quiet and relaxing seaside towns all the way along the coast south of Glasgow too, such as the small town of Rothesay on the Isle of Bute. Also, it is worth taking a drive to some of the peninsulas to the west of Glasgow, which provide some stunning rural scenery, with mountain ranges gazing down upon you in the distance.
One of the most rewarding trips is that to the south Highlands. Also, you are only ever an hour's drive away from the formidable banks of the famous Loch Lomond, where you could easily spend an entire day soaking up the splendour of all that surrounds.
