Celtic Connection (January 11-29)
Since 1993, this annual event has become a premier showcase for Celtic acts from as far afield as North America and takes place at various Glasgow venues.

Glasgow International Comedy Festival (March 9-25)
Launched in 2005, this festival has seen the likes of Jack Dee, Joan Rivers and Paul Merton appear. The festival lasts through most of March and takes place at various city centre venues.

Glasgow Art Fair (throughout April)
For more than ten years, the Glasgow Art Fair has provided local and international artists to show off their talent and sell their work to art buyers from across Europe.

West End Festival (June 12)
What started off as a small local festival in Byres Road has now turned into a major Scottish event, celebrating the essence of Glaswegian culture. Street performers, live bands, stalls and other entertainment are on hand for a truly unforgettable street party.

Glasgow International Jazz Festival (June/July)
Artists including Dionne Warwick and Georgie Fame have taken to the many stages laid out across the cities venues to celebrate the best in world jazz throughout June and July.

RSNO Scottish Proms (July)
Each year, popular classical music is performed at the Royal Concert Hall in Glasgow, culminating in an excellent ‘last night’.

World Pipe Band Championships (August)
Since 1986 Glasgow has hosted the World Pipe Band Championships, bringing together over 8000 musicians from across the world.

Glasgay! (October)
Throughout October, Glasgow celebrates gay culture in the city through a series of comedy, films, visual art, performance and community arts projects.

Glasgow on Ice (late November – December 24
Every year Glasgow City Council put together a temporary ice rink in George Square from late November up until Christmas Eve.
Glasgow Hogmanay (December 31)
The Hogmanay celebrations take place in earnest in George Square for an all-out party featuring live bands, DJs and fireworks by the stroke of midnight.
