Tradfest (February)

The Irish Traditional Society of Cork University organises one of Ireland’s most celebrated traditional music festivals, with live bands and dancers creating a party atmosphere all around the city to delighted Irish traditional music fans.

Cork St. Patrick’s Festival (March)

As expected, Cork celebrates Ireland’s national day in fine fashion with three days of musical performances, street theatre and special attractions laid on for children. As well as the numerous events on offer, the pub scene alone in Cork makes for an extremely lively atmosphere.

The famous Munster rugby union team play their games at Musgrave Park in Cork, with fixtures taking place against Irish opposition in the Magners League and against sides from across Europe in the Heineken Cup.

Cork Week (Throughout July)

Cork Week is a famous Irish sailing event that comprises six different race courses and over 20 classes of boat. As well as the competition taking place on the water, there are festivities and live music performed onshore from some of Ireland’s most well-known acts, with Bagatelle and Paddy Casey being notable performers in recent years.
