Car Hire Requirements

To hire a car in Rome you will need your licence, if you are a UK licence holder this means both paper and card counterparts.  The named driver is also required to have a current credit card from which a deposit will be taken. Car suppliers will not accept debit cards.

• Children under 3 years of age are prohibited to ride in the car without an appropriate child seat.  These can be reserved online at the time of booking; however payment is made directly to the car hire supplier upon arrival.
• Children aged between 4 and 12 years are required to be safely restrained using adaptors for seatbelts.  However an exception is made if children in the rear seating are accompanied by persons aged 16 or above.

Getting from the airport

If you are flying into Rome, the most convenient place to collect your hire car is Rome Airport (Fiumincio Airport).  From here you can drive approximately 30 Km into Rome city.  The journey is relatively straight forward and will take about 40 minutes to drive by taking the main A91 road all the way.  You can take the A90 ring road if you need to be on the Eastern side of Rome, or keep driving directly into the city.
