Ayres Rock:

Situated in the very heart of the country, driving to it from one of the major cities is somewhat out of the question unless you are staying in Alice Springs in the Northern Territory. You can however fly into Ayres Rock Airport from Alice Springs, Perth, Cairns and Sydney, with Ayres Rock itself a five hour drive away.
