Wanting to visit Walt Disney World Resort?

Book accommodation that is right for you!

Florida villasThe accommodation you book is vital to the success of your holiday. Some people enjoy being in the hubbub of it all, getting the full Disney experience and staying in one of the extravagant Disney hotels. This is a great way to see all of the parks with ease; but, with no kitchen amenities, you could end up spending a small fortune on dinning out!  If you prefer to self cater, there are plenty of villas in the locality and, if you are not that interested in spending all of your time in one theme park, it also offers you the flexibility to explore other areas of Orlando.

Laura, Marketing
“If, like me you are looking to spend most of your time at Walt Disney World and not venture too far out of the parks, I would advise you to stay in a Disney hotel. My boyfriend and I stayed in the Disney All Star Music Resort which was affordable, clean and convenient. We also had access to the park one hour before everyone else!”

Claire from Birmingham
“I stayed at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge for 4 nights which is classed as a Deluxe Resort.  The public areas are nicely themed and the hotel offers a few more amenities and facilities.  For example there is a choice of waiter-service restaurants on site, a beach and organised activities for when you’re not spending time in the park.  We stayed in one of the family rooms with a double bed and large bunk beds which was good for the kids.  And the free transportation (boat or bus) was definitely an advantage.  We then moved for 3 nights at the Hard Rock Hotel at Universal Studios and this was great too –a short walk to the parks and the room key even doubled up as a priority pass for all the rides.”

Recommended restaurants in Walt Disney World Resort

  • Sci-Fi Dine In Theatre – Themed as a drive-in movie, the Sci-Fi Dine-In Theatre Restaurant at Disney’s Hollywood Studios serves upscale burgers, sandwiches, sides, shakes and specialty drinks. Sit back and relax under the stars in your retro open-top car, and watch movie clips on the large screen.
  • California grill – Located at the top of the contemporary resort this restaurant is excellent for those with a big appetite. Order a steak and it is brought to you on a large skewer and simply served off the skewer along with any other meat and/or fish of your choice. There are many activities for the kids and if you book at the right time you can view the nightly firework display from the Magic Kingdom.
  • Character dining – A must for the kids! Here they can get up close and personal with their favourite Disney characters. Visit Chef Mickey for breakfast at the Contemporary Resort – but remember to book early as this is extremely popular!

Laurence, Sales
“My kids loved Mickey’s Safari Breakfast in Animal Kingdom – there was a varied buffet and the characters took time to visit every table and have their photo taken before encouraging everyone to join in their parade around the dining room.”

Elizabeth from Lancashire
“Plan ahead and book your dining reservations before you arrive, especially if you want to dine at a particular restaurant or enjoy a “character breakfast” – some dining experiences book up fast and, although booking ahead commits you to a particular time, it can avoid a long wait for a table during peak times. Alternatively, time your eating plans to avoid the worst of the queues - restaurants are at their busiest between 11h30 and 14h30.”

Favourite parks and rides

ThemeparksDisneyWorld has so many magical adventures in every park that you will be spoiled for choice. Some rides are better for younger age groups whilst others cater for bigger kids. The Walt Disney World Resort  website offers a guide to which rides are best for which age group and it’s best to plan your itinerary in advance or read our comprehensive guide on how to get the most of your Disney holiday.

Dean from Oldham
“My favourite park had to be Epcot! I loved Mission Space; it was unlike any other ride I had ever been on before. A lot of the rides took me back to my school days; it was like being sat in a science lesson again, but a lot more fun.”

Christine from London
“It’s so hard to choose a favourite ride but I loved Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin in the Magic Kingdom – probably because I won each time!  But you definitely shouldn’t miss the Lion King performance in Animal Kingdom either”

Beth from Lancashire
“Allow yourself plenty of time – there is a lot of walking between attractions and during busy times it can take quite a while to get from one side of the park to the other.  And remember to build some “queue time” into your schedule! “
