| German Christmas Markets |
The "Christkindlmarkt" in Munich has been a long standing tradition, centred around Marienplatz in the city's historic district. Each year an enormous Christmas Tree is decked with lights and surrounded by traditional wooden stalls selling beautifully crafted Christmas decorations and heavenly confectionery.
Taking place between the 30th November and the 24th December, this year's market features festive Alpine Music at the Town Hall each evening at 5.30 and a "Christmas Tram" to ferry shoppers around the decorated streets, serving mulled wine and gingerbread.

| Santa arrives in Holland |

Each year on the 17th November "Sinterklaas" arrives in Holland all the way from Spain, ready to deliver his presents to the good boys and girls of Holland. Children around the country wait anxiously to see if the steamboat carrying the 500 year old saint will make it safely to the dock in Breda.
The subsequent procession through the town is a joyful event with live music and acrobats distributing children's sweets. Dutch families can then enjoy the traditional St Nicholas feast day at home on the 5th December.
