June festivities in Tuscany |
The Italians love a good party and June brings more events for the family to enjoy. The Luminaria is an atmospheric event held on the 16th June each year as the city of Pisa commemorates its patron saint by lighting up the buildings on both sides of the River Arno with candles and spectacular fireworks. On the 24th June take your pick. Florence marks the day of its patron saint, John the Baptist, with parades, fireworks and a rather odd game of "ancient football". At the same time the town of Arezzo steps back in time with its Medieval Pageant and Jousting Tournament
Flight prices are per person, based on return travel from Stansted to Pisa for travel before 30/06/07 |
