Where to start with Hawaii? With so much to do and see, it’s hard to do justice to all the activities and sights available on this collection of fabulous islands no matter how long your visit. Honolulu is always a wise beginning and its famous Waikiki Beach. Here, white sand beaches stretch as far as the eye will allow as everyday gives way to the most incredible sunsets. Popular activities at Waikiki Beach include snorkelling, scuba diving, golf and sailing. If looking for something a less arduous; Waikiki Aquarium and Historic Trail are excellent ways to also take in the beach. Honolulu town itself is also worth a visit, including its own zoo and downtown historic and cultural centre. Head to the Old Town to see the Kawaiahao Church, the Mission Houses Museum and Iolani Palace or eat at one of the many excellent seafood restaurants serving some of the best local delicacies.

Definitely visit Oahu and the world-renowned Pearl Harbour with its memorial to those that were lost following the Japanese attack towards the end of World War II. Hanauma Bay is the place to go if snorkelling is on the agenda to check out some of the amazing sealife and if you don’t fancy getting yourself wet; get up close and personal with the fish and other sea beings in the nearby Sea Life Park.

Time must also be put aside for the unmistakable experience of Maui. From dolphin sailing to whale watching to romantic sunset dinner cruises - Maui epitomises the laidback sun kissed Hawaii experience. Surfing lessons are on hand for beginners as well as the more experienced and again is an excellent place to do some scuba diving - particularly at the Molokini Crater, which offers divers the chance to see several species of endemic fish. With Hawaii being such an action-packed and beautiful scenic setting - it’s no wonder it has been picked as the location or the next Indiana Jones movie.
