For scenery:
Where to start? Scotland boasts a wealth of stunning scenery and there are many scenic drives to be had.
If it’s waterfalls you’re after then how about a trip to the highest falls in Britain? Eas a' Chual Aluinn near Kylesku, can be reached via a 5 mile round walk or a boat trip from Kylesku. For a shorter walk,
try Steall Falls in Glen Nevis, Plodda Falls near Tomich or the Falls of Measach near Ullapool.
There are also many historic buildings which grace the landscape, including romantic ruins and abandoned castles such as Castle Girnigoe near Wick or Balvenie Castle in Glen Fiddich. Whisky is one of Scotland’s most famous exports and there are plenty of distilleries to choose from, many with visitor centres and offering tasting tours. Discover the secrets of the Ben Nevis distillery in Fort William, one of the oldest in Scotland. Or make your way to the most northerly distillery in Scotland – the Old Pulteney in search of a unique and characterful Single Malt.

For those seeking an action-packed holiday, make your way to the G2 centre near Aviemore where there is an enviable choice of activites on offer from white-water rafting and canyoning to rock climbing and hill walking.
In the heart of the Cairngorms National Park, Full On Adventure also offers a full range of activities to make the most of their glorious surroundings. Choose from kayaking, rafting, rock climbing and mountain biking in the summer months.
For families:
The Highland Wildlife Park at Kincraig is always a popular choice. Home to a number of indigenous species (such as red deer, pine martins and capercaillie) as well as more exotic creatures including Amur Tigers.
As well as scenic journeys which hark back to times gone by, the Strathspey Steam Railway also runs a number of family-friendly events including Thomas the Tank Engine days, Steam Fairs and Teddy Bear Picnics.
Let them run off their energy at the Landmark Forest Adventure Park where there’s plenty to occupy all age groups, including an adventure playground, a red squirrel trail, a huge timber tower and water coaster.
For a romantic break:
