Local InformationHumberside Airport is a small international airport located in North Lincolnshire, England, only fifteen miles south of Kingston upon Hull. Passengers traveling to this area would be happy to learn that Hull is a fantastic opportunity for them to experience, providing one with all that a larger city of England is meant to offer - including great shopping centres like the Princes Quay Shopping centre; museums and art galleries, such as the East Riding Museum and the Ferens Art Gallery; awesome theatres, for example, the Hull New Theatre; and cool nightclubs like LA’s and Pozition. Humberside Airport was previously a Royal Air Force base, which was opened in 1931 during the Second World War. The site was abandoned in the year 1945, until the local council reopened the site as the Kirmington Airport in 1974. The airport changed its name when the local area was renamed Humberside. Scheduled airlines using the Humberside Airport include: Eastern Airways (to Aberdeen); and KLM Royal Dutch Airlines (to Amsterdam). Charter airlines served by the airport are Excel Airways (to Portugal, Spain, Turkey, Bulgaria, Italy and Tunisia); First Choice (to Bodrum, Dalaman, Faro, Larnaca, Palma, and Tenerife); MyTravel Airways (to Alicante, Arrecife, Dalaman, Heraklion, Larnaca, Faro, Fuerteventura, Las Palmas, Ibiza, Mahon, Monastir, Palma, and Tenerife); Thomas Cook (to Antalya, Bodrum, Dalaman, Faro, Fuerteventura, Larnaca, Lanzarote, Las Palmas, Madeira, Palma, and Tenerife); and Excel Airways (to Palma). Humberside Airport features all the modern facilities that passengers expect at an international airport. These include an information desk, special conveniences for the disabled passengers, an airport chaplaincy, shops and many restaurants. There is also an executive lounge at the airport. This lounge has business facilities including writing desks, Internet access, telephone and fax. You can also read magazines and newspapers, watch television, or visit the bar. |
