Museum of Anatolian Civilization is another tourist spot with its unique collection of chronologically displayed treasures belonging to different eras. The acknowledged symbol of the city is Ankara Citadel, which to 978 meters high. It is the oldest part of the city, containing many fine examples of traditional architecture. The citadel has inner and outer castles; inside the citadel area many restored traditional Turkish houses have found new life as restaurants, serving local cuisine, music and of course, raki (traditional alcoholic beverage).

When visiting Ankara, don't miss its delightful parks and lakes as well as places of shoppers' interest, including the traditional old bazaar.
