Of the other 3 smaller islands La Palma is slowly developing as a tourism destination whilstLa Gomera and El Hierro still remain mostly untouched.Although part of Spain the island do not fall under the auspices of the EU and as such have remained duty free destinations making for great shopping bargains. Maspalomas – The beaches of Maspalomas in Gran Canaria are some of the finest in the Canary Island and are the perfect haven for sun worshippers and water sports.
Cesar Manrique Foundation – A must see for any visitor to Lanzarote showing the best works of Lanzarote’s most famous artist.
Mount Teide – The mountainous centre of Tenerife with its amazing volcanic scenery make a welcome change from the busy resorts of Tenerife’s coast line.
How to get there….
Each of the Canary Island’s major islands has an international airport handling scheduled and charter flights from around Europe. Tenerife is the busiest of the airport and also acts as a gateway for onward travellers to La Gomera.
