The international Jazz Festival is held each year in July by the floodlit Grand Harbor, so hand yourself over to legendary performances by planning your trip accordingly.

From mid November to mid May, the islands are green and lush. This is the time for you to explore the countryside by foot. You might want to hire a mountain bike as you head out from village squares on the narrow farmers ' tracks. The villages of Malta are yet another attraction, by the way. Worlds apart from the major resorts and the capital Valetta, the villages are the epitome of Mediterranean life. Here, too, you would love to spend the rest of your life, but unlike the people of the olden times, were sure you wouldn 't want to spill blood over all those wild flowers in order to make Malta your own!
