Kefalonia, the largest of the Ionian Islands in western Greece, is renowned for its profuse natural beauty. The capital of the Kefalonia prefecture is Argostoli, where the Volta, or evening walk - a classic Greek experience - is the first thing you must try. The Alexander Restaurant, on the main square in Argostoli, is where you may dance Greek-style through the night. There are tavernas and bars in all places, really, and here you can expect to be welcomed with the friendliest of welcomes.
