Local Information Belgium’s third largest city, Charleroi, is situated in the south of Belgium, close to the border with France. Approx 45 km south of Brussels it is small city which has been elevated as a European destination due to the decision of Ryanair to use Charleroi airport as one of its main European hubs. The Archaeological Museum - which adjoins the Glass Museum, is home to several collections from the Roman periods and others from the 16th, 17th & 18th centuries.

How to get there…. Charleroi airport is situated only 5 miles from the centre of Charleroi and only 30 miles south of the capital Brussels. A bus service run regularly to the main train station in Charleroi allowing for easy onward transit. Alternative there are a wide range of car hire providers at the airport
