The Linz Airport is located about 13 kilometers from the city of Horsching, Austria. Getting to the airport from around the city is fairly easy. A person may arrive by taxi, bus, rail, or by car. Taking the car from Horsching is about a three minute trip and free to those taking a flight and runs from 2 am to 11 pm daily. Bus trips are about 30 minutes long and cost about 2.5 Euro from the city centre.
At the information desk a traveler can use the fax machine, email on a public computer, and copy machine. Leisure time activities and information on public transportation, taxis, and car rentals are also available here. The Linz Airport is big enough to have three baggage claims so that those incoming passengers can quickly gather their luggage and be on their way to visit the countryside. Also making life easier for those traveling through the airport are a Bank, Bureau de Change, and Auto Exchange Machine in case you didn't get your money changed prior to arriving in Austria.
There are several special services for travelers through Linz Airport. One is called Eve Check in where the person flying can check in before their scheduled charter flight. Another is Car, Check and Fly which allows a passenger to drive their own car to the airport and leave it at no charge in the company car parking lot without any fees. No time limit is given for this service. If your car is in need of repair, passengers can use the Fly and Drive service where they drive their own car to the airport and it is repaired and/or serviced while the passenger is gone and then left in the airport car lot for their return.
Passengers can purchase gifts, food, and other amenities in a duty free shop onsite or eat in the cafeterias, restaurants, or bars that can be found in the airport. For those flying for business purposes there is a VIP lounge, conference and seminar rooms, depending on the size of meeting room needed. The conference and seminar rooms can hold up to 140 people and catering from the cafeteria is available by calling 0 7221/ 74 5 45-0. And the airport has facilities for disabled passengers.
