Cairns is found in Northern Queensland on the western coast of Australia. Whilst the town of Cairns is not a tourist attraction in its own right the natural beauty which surrounds it has made Cairns a virtually obligatory stop for any visitor to Australia. Two world heritage sites, the Great Barrier Reef and the Wet Tropics Rainforest, lie adjacent to one another at Cairns allowing tourists the opportunity to explore the teeming marine life and underwater beauty of the Great Barrier Reef and the undisturbed majesty of the rain forest from one central base.

Daintree National Park – For a truly amazing experience fly up river by helicopter and spend the week white water rafting back to civilization. With a national park on one side of the river and a world heritage park on the other this is best way to see the forests

Cairns To Kuranda Railway - One of the major attractions of the area, the old Cairns to Kuranda railway takes its passengers through the tropical rainforest.

The Great Barrier Reef – Cairns harbour has a plethora of companies offering guided tours out to the Great Barrier reef. The journey out can take over 2 hours but once you reach the outer reef the marine live and unique corrals make the journey worthwhile. To really get the most of your visit try scuba diving.

How to get there….

The Cairns International Airport is situated to the North of the city centre and offers both domestic and international flights. The 5th busiest airport in Australia it handled over 130,000 aircraft last year.
