Visitors should ensure they make time to stop at one of the food stalls within the square and sample the delicious mulled wine, baked apples, regional sausages and freshly baked gingerbread for a true taste of a traditional German Christmas. A short walk away is the traditional Manger Market in Rindermarkt, continuing the seasonal tradition of placing a small manger scene beneath the Christmas tree as a symbol of the true meaning of Christmas. Here you will find a number of small stalls selling everything you could possibly need to recreate your own manger scene from hand carved figures to lanterns and even fodder for the donkey. This year, visitors can jump aboard the “Christmas Tram” which will ferry them around the decorated city streets, serving spiced wine and gingerbread. Get a quote for car hire in Munich |
