Trevignon
Trevignon boasts four excellent beaches within just 2km of each other. The beaches here are serene, extremely relaxed and appear seemingly ‘hidden’ and unspoilt – many are approached down small, unmarked roads to give you a sense of getting away from the beaten track. Firstly, the narrow Plage Trescao-Don makes for a scenic setting, with beautiful rock formations found on the beach itself. The sand here is fine and the water is perfectly clean for a quick dip. Children will particularly enjoy a quick paddle here. Within walking distance is the Plage de Trescao, characterised by its wonderfully white sands and dunes which slope towards the sea. If you haven’t brought a pique-nique with you, don’t worry as there are a handful of nice places at Kersidan Plage to get something to eat and drink.
The beaches along this stretch of coast are interspersed with a wonderful range of rock pools so be sure to remember your fishing nets and buckets – you never know, you might be in with a chance of catching a crab supper!

Kercanic
Kercanic offers a wonderful stretch of unspoilt coast combined with excellent tourist facilities and activities for visitors. Fishing is popular here, particularly oyster fishing, with the seafood restaurants found in the area highly recommended. Near to the beach you will find a great 18-hole golf course, or if that isn’t your thing; head along the quiet roads to the pretty harbour towns of Concarneau or Quimper, which have a number of charming shops selling crafts - and in the case of Concarneau - a cathedral and wonderful medieval town. As the sun sets, head back to Kercanic for a relaxing stroll along the beach, before heading to one of the many bars and restaurants found in the locality.

Raguenes
The celebrated beach at Raguenes can be found tucked in between unmarked country lanes between Concarneau and Pont-Aven. Whereas Kercanic is perhaps more ideal for adults, Raguenes is perfect for families, especially young children who will love the soft golden sand, which gently slopes towards the sea. There is certainly plenty of space here to run around, build a few sandcastles or even fly a kite! And the adventurer in you can head for the nearby rocks for a few hours’ exploration.
Nearby you will find a number of well-equipped campsites, including one directly situated next to the beach by a marked path for easy access to the sea. As mentioned, Pont-Aven is close-by and is famous for its connections to the art world, notably Gaugin who came here to paint in the 1880s. This small town is punctuated by the River Aven which runs right through Port-Aven and has a number of fine restaurants situated by its banks. Take a drive along the River Aven, where you will discover pretty port villages such as Rosbras.

Rospico
A hidden gem, Ropisco’s unspoilt beach and sandy coves offer the perfect retreat for a relaxing family holiday. The area has a good sprinkling of cafes and restaurants and also has the advantage of being close to the beautiful Jardins du Rospico, which have been subject of numerous paintings by local and international artists. The 3.5 hectare gardens are situated in a sheltered valley and are characterised by wide grassy paths and feature many unusual plants.
Picturesque Port Manech is just a 1km drive away, where you will find a handful of small shops selling tourist wares as well as a number of nice restaurants which overlook the coast which sell inexpensive, yet deliciously fresh seafood.

The Quiberon Peninsula
Walkers are particularly rewarded by a visit to the Quiberon Peninsula thanks to the rugged and diverse scenery. The western side of the Peninsula is known as the ‘Wild Coast’ (Cote Sauvage) and is where you will find quiet, windswept beaches and excellent surfing opportunities due to the strong tides. The eastern side of the Peninsula is where you will discover calm and relaxing stretches of sandy beaches, ideal for a spot of sunbathing and for children to paddle.
The area boasts many activities for tourists, especially in Quiberon itself. This lively port is where you are able to take a boat trip to the off-shore islands of Belle-Ile, Houat and Hoedic. The island of Belle-Ile is particularly good for people who enjoy outdoor pursuits, where you are able to hire bikes to go and explore the island as you please. Quiberon also has a small golf course as well as a good array of shops, restaurants and bars found close to its long expanses of beach.
Close by, is arguably one of the area’s must-sees – Carnac. As well as large, sandy beaches and a good range of amenities Carnac is perhaps best known for its intriguing 5000 B.C Neolithic standing stones which rank as one of the most important prehistoric sites in the world and should not be missed.
