The R335 from Westport, Co Mayo to Leenane in the west of Ireland. The route takes you to Louisburgh with stunning views of Clew Bay. Then, drops down to Leenane with the Sheeffrey Hills on the left and the Mweelrea Mountains on the right passing Doo Lough The views are spectacular, weather permitting! Leenane is a quite village at the end where a decent cup of tea can be taken and a browse round the craft shops. It also has a 182 year old road bridge which unfortunately was partially washed away in the floods of July 2007. I believe the temporary bridge is still in place. |

The Antrim coast road drive from Carrickfergus to Portstewart is my favourite. It helps if it is a sunny day when you stop to walk around the Giant's Causeway but it is dramatic in any weather. Finish at Portrush or Portstewart for an ice cream and a walk along the beach. Perfect |

The road along the Antrim coast in Northern Ireland, with the sea on one-side and the hills on the other. Doesn't matter what the weather is like - it's still spectacular. |

Travelling in Ireland through the beautiful County Kerry I will never forget the drive through The Gap of Dunloe. The scenery was outstanding and the road in places a little narrow but my hire car coped with it perfectly. It is the fourth time my wife and myself have visited Ireland and where ever we go we always find ourselves going back to Kerry. Unfortunately this last time my own camera failed and we were not able to take the photographic memories we would have liked. |

The drive into Milford Sound, New Zealand. After you pass through flat, welcoming, tussock grassed valleys framed by mountains you enter Homer tunnel. Painstakingly dug 100 years ago then you emerge into a bowl of rock and snow, the road winds through mountains and rivers crash beside the road. Forests are passed through until you reach the destination and see the stunning vista - mitre peak rising majestically out of Milford Sound. Surely one of the best drives in the world! |

The drive of my life has to be along the Gold Coast in the beautiful land of Oz. With its magnificent coast and majestic scenery it is a journey I will treasure forever and never forget!! Those quirky little eateries and bars and the fantastic people are something that you would miss out on by hopping on a plane. So rock on Car Hire 3000, we'd be lost without you :) |

We drove from Toronto in Canada west all the way to Lake Louise and Vancouver. Next we headed south into the USA through north and South Dakota, Bismarck, Fargo, Minneapolis, Detroit, Chicago and then back to Toronto. The most amazing 21 days of driving which we booked through your company carhire3000. |

East Highway 61 from Grand Marais, Minnesota to the Pigeon River border station Canada. Especially the view from the cliffs overlooking the Susie Island. It is one of the most spectacular views I’ve ever seen. |

My favourite drive is when my family and I went to Livigno. We passed from St. Moritz and the drive was unforgettable. The scenery of the high mountains covered with snow and the nice wooden houses are beautiful. It is sure a drive we will never forget. |

The Amalfi Coast. It is breathtaking in many ways, the sun streaming through the window the sea breeze in your hair and the beautiful views across the ocean, followed closely by the narrow windy roads and the thrill/apprehension as you take every bend not knowing what will be heading towards you. A drive everyone should experience! |

Despite not being a UK resident I am submitting my "Favourite Drive" anyway as I always use Carhire3000.com for my overseas car hire
Along the coast road from Nice to Monaco, my wife and I did this recently when we visited the area for the F1 Grand Prix. Such exquisite bays and travelling in our Peugeot 307 CC with the top down made it even more special. This is the stuff memories are made of. |

Traversing around the Italian and Swiss Alps with the roof down and my lovely (soon to be wife) next to me. Fresh Alpine air and classic rat pack music blasting out of the stereo. Saint Bernadino, Stevlio and Umbria pass fall and I think I'm in the Italian Job! |

The drive of my life was from the top of Monte Cassino, Italy. Down the series of tight hairpin bends on this steepest of hillsides, looking over the edge with excitement and fear is still etched in my mind after 30 years! I know hairpins are frequent on the Italian coastline, but this was extra dramatic as it was my first visit to the “homeland” of my grandparents. Michel and Pasqua had left the town of Cassino to come to England between the two world wars. Sadly they could not come with me in 1978 but I swear I felt them in spirit. |

My first visit to Rome in August. The contrast between the frantic, crazy city drive and then heading north through the wonderful lush Italian countryside. Then the steep winding roads up to the medieval hill town of Montefiasconne perched prominently in the distance with the golden sun setting and casting fantastic warm colours and dappled rays beyond the clouds - magnificent and breathtaking. |
