Driving in France is done on the right side of the road. The speed limit is at 130 kph on motorways. On dual carriageways, the limit is at 110 kph, and 90 kph on an open road. When roads are wet due to rains, you have to slow down your driving by 20 kph.
When driving, an international driver’s licence is needed, unless your country is a member of the European Union. The licence should always be in your car, together with the vehicle registration papers, and certificate of insurance. A passport is also needed if the driver’s license contains no photo.
