Although not as high at Toronto’s CN Tower, its similar build enables visitors to enter its observation deck, which on a clear day offers a picture perfect image of the Rockies to the west. Make time during your stay in Calgary to visit Eau Claire and the Festival District. Here you can marvel at the waterside condominiums, shopping centres, restaurants and parkland, back dropped by the impressive Calgary skyline.  Always popular with tourists is the Eau Claire Festival Market - an ornate and shop packed mall, bountiful of restaurants, bars and a cinema.

Another worthwhile daytime activity can be found at Telus World of Science. This innovative museum appeals to visitors both young and old with its combination of laser shows, planetarium and exhibitions. Most impressive of all features is the 360 degree Discovery Dome Theatre, showing enlightening science-based films shot in a way designed to engage visitors with a cinematic experience like never before. Another visit of note is the Glenbow Museum, regarded as one of the countries best art galleries.

Before heading to The Rockies, get a teaser of the snow sport activities to come with an unmissable visit to Canada Olympic Park, where some of the events for the 1988 Winter Olympics were held. As well as being able to peer down at the seemingly endless ski jump platform, visitors are able to ride the incredible, adrenaline pumping bobsleigh slope.

In keeping with the energetic feel of this city, there is no shortage of night time activities to indulge in. The Stephen Avenue area of the city is what Covent Garden is to London, with its street performers, restaurants and nightclubs, or simply return back to Eau Claire Market where you will find several late night bars and clubs.
